There seems to be an endless amount of options out there. Does anyone have positive first hand experience with any? It will be used for internal documentation / knowledge-base that all developers can update internally. Preferences of the higher ups are asp and free, but I'd be open to php. [Update] We are going to go with ScrewTurn for the time being. Thanks for all the advice.

Thank you asp. That's where we are leaning at the moment. It seems to be quite simple, but has enough features to do what we want.

I'll second ScrewTurn Wiki[^]. I've not used it for anything large, but it's easy to set up and get going with. Asp.net with a SQL server back end. Free (GPL). Comes in two versions, one that uses IIS for server based environments, and one that uses a modified cassini host for desktop environments. Paid for alternative commercial redistribution licenses are available. Paid for hosting is also available.

I use this as well for a couple of projects and like it. I've had a couple of issues in some formatting scenarios to float images, but I can say the same about a couple others as well. Articles on www.asp.net in the Ajax section also use screwturn.

Indeed. They just downvoted a few of my messages. I have just posted a question for the site moderators asking how I should handle this behavior in the future. If I just keep letting them downvote me, that's fine, as people tend to counter and it would only cause my reputation to increase more rapidly. And I don't mind letting them univote me so they have something to feel ashamed of later when they mature. But I reported it to the admins in case they want to take matters into their own hands.

I second the comment entering data into MediaWiki is hard. For tech savvy people it is barely OK, the non tech people at work hate it with a passion. But then maybe we are using an old version. It has no real WYSIWIG
