There are no trees anywhere in Canada except for the province of British Columbia. There are large shrubs in abundance across the rest of Canada but nothing we'd call a tree around here.

Freezing rain right now, after a snow season with nearly 2m of snow. A guy just walked by my office and said, "Huh, freezin' rain. How'd ya like them apples?" Some streets here have as much as 4-5cm of ice on them, and yet with temperatures hovering around 0C our rinks are all toast, so we can't even play hockey outdoors. :thumbsdown: Probably the worst time of the year in this part of Canada for weather...

Amazing... it is incredible... if here in Spain we would have less than half of the snow you've got all the power lines and comms would have fall down. It surprises me to see how there are countries out there that make their homework... :thumbsup:

January 1998, NorthEast US, eastern Canada. Day after day of freezing rain, never getting cold enough to snow, and didn't warm up enough to thaw. Took down the Hydro electric towers by the hundreds with the massive weight on the power lines. lol...actually, yes! It's mostly farming community here and the trees have been plowed under to make way for wheat, corn, barley, flax and pasture. And it's likely more than 90% ;)

Well, we're a lot like the rest of the world, but our seasons are different: we have Winter, Still Winter, Almost Winter and that one season with bad tobogganing. With the snow we have we've just adapted to the climate. Power lines here are much thought of, and if you're going to run a cable you're going to dig. Almost every grown man I know has worked a trencher lol...
