They are probably trying to protect themselves - and you - from shipping a system on a stolen credit card!

If that was the case, why amazon and many others don't do that? And stolen credit cards take only a call to cancel the card and the bank will not approve the billing, problem solved. And even if the card does not get cancelled, it's the credit card company the responsibility for the billing, there's no need to worry, if the credit gets approved the problem is out of their hands and it becomes the customer and the bank's problem. This is the first time ever I buy something with a credit card and it's necessary to call me back to confirm.

Alright, let's cut to the point: What's in it for us? Warm feelings don't count, I get enough of those from cleaning my weapons.

Hi, I'm trying to order an alienware from dell, because i'm flying to U.S. on april 25th. The problem is that they need to confirm the order by call an U.S. number, since I can't be there at order time, I'd like to ask if someone could confirm the order on my behalf. I also can't order when I'm in US because then I won't get the laptop in time. If you can, please message me so you can give me a mobile phone or something dell can call. Thank you very much.

He was asked when I gave it to him: "Do you pay the bill on this? If not, then don't keep the number." A month later he was furious when he tried to call me and it didn't work! It wasn't an important call, it could have waited until the next day, or he could have run on the land line. But, because he had "my mobile number" he used it.

My boss here wants me to use my personal phone for e-mail and text responses and alerts, I pretty much had the same response, though he has my number already.

Yep, that was one of my ideas too, but I still don't have my reservations and room number, so they can't do anything for me and I don't want to wait for that as I might miss the delivery date.

Well, I was using an interpretation of the word "article" to mean something dirty in this case... article [ˈɑːtɪkəl] n 1. one of a class of objects; item an article of clothing 2. an unspecified or previously named thing, esp a small object he put the article on the table 3. a distinct part of a subject or action 4. (Communication Arts / Journalism & Publishing) a written composition on a subject, often being one of several found in a magazine, newspaper, etc. 5. (Linguistics / Grammar) Grammar a kind of determiner, occurring in many languages including English, that lacks independent meaning but may serve to indicate the specificity of reference of the noun phrase with which it occurs See also definite article, indefinite article 6. (Law) a clause or section in a written document such as a treaty, contract, statute, etc. (Law) in articles formerly, undergoing training, according to the terms of a written contract, in the legal profession 8.
