When sex becomes robotic, then I might be interested.

I think you might be mistaken, I thought perhaps there was some comedy element to this but alas no.

Perhaps back room material, but at least it will bring an end to paedophillia. Just give the pervs a robot child and leave the real kids untounched. Perhaps not a PC idea, but it will work. --edit-- Did you know that it was porn that made VHS succeed BetaMax back in the 80s? Sony arent being so prudish today with BlueRay, they are making SURE that porn producers are using their format. Sex made the Minitel in France popular, and was a massive force in the success of the Internet. If ONE thing will make robotics work, its the sex industry. :) --edit--edit-- You know sex robots are going to be a really interesting thing: It is illegal to have pictures of kiddy porn, as it is to actually have sex with kids. This seems to imply the act of thinking about it is as bad as actually doing it. And here is a quesiotn for the lawyers, are CGI generated images of kiddy porn also illegal? If so, then sex robots that fullfill what are currently illegal sexual appetites will also be illegal. It will be interesting, thats for sure.

It should be illegal because it could increase the urge of some “mild” psycho turning him from potential offender to a real one.

If I open this from work the network administrators will start wandering if I’m not searching for place to emigrate and that I probably have some little “oddities”.

Not sure about your side of the puddle, but over here the Polaroid Land Camera was a big seller in part because folks could take pictures of each other parts without having to let thier friendly neighborhood processing department get a look-see. 'Twasn't for nothing that the Polaroid people named one model, "the Swinger." There are claims that the internet has grown so quickly because of the amount of pornography available - as an example, check the other tabs each of you have open right now. ;-)

In real engineering, you do what works in practice, even if the theory says it fails. In social engineering, you do what theory says works, even if it fails in practice.
