An interesting, well-rendered, video[^], from Corning Glass, a fantasia showing a future of touch-driven interactive computing 'design surfaces' on everything from stoves and refrigerators to mobile devices. And when the internet goes down ? My own fantasia, which I have actually realized in many ways, is to live a kind of techno-peasant lifestyle, as 'frugal,' and close to the 'earth' and 'manual labor,' as possible, but ... then ... I open a door to an air-conditioned room ... so necessary nearer the Equator ... full of the latest technology ... and real books, not e-books. But, then I was lucky enough ... or unlucky, depending on your perspective ... to have grown up without television until age 11 or so: to have 'imprinted' on ink on paper. best, Bill the Fossil

Impressive... I can't imagine the costs of a house like this one... but anyway... impressive... 5! What I've not understood is how the grandma can see the children in fornt of the kitchen... welll making a touch screen even where you prepare the meals is something that can be done... but covering that surface with web-cams? :~

I will probably never see it as it will take many years to phase into every day life. As houses get old and replaced they may have these devices but most won't bother to retrofit.

I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.
