You spelled "gaming" wrong - two different ways (we won't even talk about "betwenn"). (I have nothing else of value to add to this thread.)

Well, you might not have to spend that much... I use the Logitech G330, which is going for about $40 now. Decent quality, behind-the-head style. Not perfect, but surprisingly good for the price.
Proud to have finally moved to the A-Ark. Which one are you in?

Author of the Guardians Saga (Sci-Fi/Fantasy novels)What good is a headset that is somehow worn behind the head? Wouldn't that technically be called a behind-the-headset?

And I certainly wouldn't advise looking up gamming in the urban dictionary.
Every man can tell how many goats or sheep he possesses, but not how many friends.

I use the Creative Fatal1ty headset: clickety UK Amazon[^] You really don't need to spend as much as you are wanting to spend if all you are going to be listening to are explosions etc - this headset has a very good bass and is comfortable to wear.

A noise cancelling microphone? That doesn't sound particularly useful.

I am currently using the Logitech G35[^], and it sounds very nice, you can hear enemy footsteps and pin point the direction very efficently, due to it's 7.1 channel output. also has inbult soundcard so no need to worry, if your sound card is not 7.1 channel, bit heavy but you will get used to it after some time. fixed the broken link

Along a similar vein - pilot headsets have sound canceling in the sense that they are voice activated(which is why you have to wear the mic so close to your mouth) - they can be a bit disconcerting at first but you soon get used to them...

Hmmm, perhaps I should vote to remove this thread - I can't be having my sons see the recommendations.
