There are 3 peices of Iced Madeira Cake (with chocolate bits on top) in the fridge, I can have one if I want. BUT I promised myself that today was going to be a NO CAKE DAY (obviously that was before I knew about the free cake). So do I eat the cake and break my promise or abstain and feel like a saint? The Lounge: I need your decision! :-D

Use the same counting method as I would when I go out to the pub. The only slices of cake, or in my case beers, that you have to count are the ones you buy. You see, if it's free then it has no value and so it can't 'really' exist. There is no cake.

That was my big mistake! I should have remembered:

in a nice way of course. I would eat the cake and then tell everyone how good it was. ;)

Exactly. The same with cigarettes, if you smoke someone else's then you are a non smoker still.

As someone who is on a diet (I am eating 1/2 portions and it works great). My suggestion would be to eat half a piece slowly - that way you can enjoy the taste and not feel guilty. Alternatively get someone to upset you, make sure you have lots of mascara running down your face, then stuff all three pieces in your mouth as quickly as you can making sure you get lots of chocolate everywhere
