Sorry for the technical question , but since CP doesn't have the proper forum relating with PHP and knowning that some programmers here have some PHP knownlegde , I'll dare to ask where can I find good resources/books dealing with this scripting technology and MySql database ? It appears tha the java project that I thought that I was going to do is after two PHP projects that I'll do within my new employer, and since I don't have any PHP background neither MySql, I'm posting here in hope of some kind sould that could provide me with some kind of guidance. Cheers,Joao Vaz And if your dream is to care for your family, to put food on the table, to provide them with an education and a good home, then maybe suffering through an endless, pointless, boring job will seem to have purpose. And you will realize how even a rock can change the world, simply by remaining obstinately stationary.-Shog9 Remember just because a good thing comes to an end, doesn't mean that the next one can't be better.-Chris Meech

You poor b**ger, PHP is a language most foul. Popular with people who should really be using VB, but fancy a taste of open source smugness. Had to do some for a couple of months this year, hence the bad attitude. I did manage to find a half-way decent framework at http://www.roadsend.com/siteManager/home/treeMenu.php[^]. It does handy things like abstracting the DB type and makes a passable attempt at separating presentation from logic too. You should really be using ASP.NET you know.. Ryan Computers allow you to make more mistakes than any other invention, with the possible exception of handguns and tequila.

sitepoint.com has some excellent articles and resources on development with php and MySQL and web development in general. I've found it to be on par with our beloved CP as a development resource. I've seen Chris Duncans articles there as well. I just embarked on some MySQL/PHP development for the first time. php is very intuitive, coming from a c/c++ background. It makes working with MySQL pretty easy. I'm new to sql but its been pretty easy going so far. Josh Knox
