There was a movement a while back to create a CP-like site for *nix. Chris and Dave effectively quashed it (not necessarily a bad thing, and not purposely, I don't think) by grabbing the reigns and ownership of the site, turning the would-be charter members into plain old editors. That's not to say that any of us really followed through on the plans to start it up. I know that I was busy at the time finishing up my college career, and I'm sure the others were just as busy. Since then, I have found bigger fish to fry. Someone motivated enough could pick up where we left off and get everything going again. I do have to say, however, that not having access to the framework of the site kind of deflated my sails of enthusiasm for the project. AFAIK, we couldn't have used UnixProject.com anyway because of trademark/copyright issues. Jon Sagara When I want something, I just go out and buy it. That makes me a go-getter. -- My sister

It wasn't our intention to quash it, there was just an overwhelming flood of things to do, and we didn't want to do a site like unixproject.com with less than the appropriate amount of effort and resources. In fact, I wanted to get a daemon that would create users, and then code a small .NET assembly to then access it via. TCP/IP.
