    My actual guess is they're throwing a hissy fit about the complaints people made about hitting the advert instead of the download link.

                yeah, the number of big-green-download-button ads out there is getting silly. Sites ought to put their own logo on the download buttons so that people can spot which of the sometimes many buttons to press.

                    Challenge accepted (though the server keeps giving errors when I attempt to download). Perhaps it's time to consider alternative Subversion clients. I'm looking for a standalone program (so I don't have to rely on Explorer or Visual Studio integration) and SmartSVN is looking pretty good.

                      I've never been to the Tortoise SVN site before, normally I just go direct to the SourceForge page[^] for it.

                        RocketSVN is free and works really well. It's integrated into Visual Studio though.
