How cool is that! JK Rowling has become "Freeman of the City of London"

How long before the "It should be freeWOMAN!" rants start to slow the net down?
I wanna be a eunuchs developer! Pass me a bread knife!

She has in fact been given honorary "Freedom of the City of London" which is different and rarer than "Freeman of the City of London" a purchased title. This should placate the PC brigade. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Honorary_Freemen_of_the_City_of_London[^]

Awesome! The only problem is that I'm guessing those who get the honour are not those likely to take the city up on it's privileges. I promise you if London ever bestows that on me the first thing I'll do is drive a herd of sheep - at swordpoint - across the bridge while drunk.

Don't try it. You'll never survive against White Van Man, London Cabbie or London Bus Driver. If you get past those unscathed, every thieving pikey in town will nick your sheep. You'll also be arrested (or likely shot) for carrying a dangerous weapon (especially in trigger-happy Olympics year) and if you survive all of that, Hackney Social Services will place you in a foster home run by drug addicts and pimps. You're better off staying put...in a pub.

I think I meant herd a flock of sheep. Or flock a herd of sheep. I dunno - ask a Kiwi like Bryce what you're meant to do with sheep. Actually, no. Don't.

Only if you buy the beer too. Which will add, let's see... what's the cost of a pint divided by 2?
