Could have had a TouchSmart
-
Big deadline looming.. Of course, my only work machine (its a laptop) decides that now would be a good time to start over-heating and causing general panic and mayhem. Luckily, I have an extremely cool boss who suggested that the company should purchase a new machine for me to use. He recommended a TouchSmart[^] since that is what we are targeting for a large-scale client installation. We have a bunch of these kicking around the office already for demos/presentations/testing etc.. I told him that for that kind of money, I would just as soon have a more 'down to business' machine. I recommended this one[^]. Anyway, after some minor hangups with Best Buy, including them picking out the wrong machine (online order) and me leaving with it and having to go back, I'm back home with the new desktop machine. Now I just need to decide whether to run Win7 as my main OS or to run Linux and run Win7/Visual Studio in a Virtual Machine. I've been a long time favorite of the Fedora Core distributions, though I have to say the new Ubuntu with Unity is really growing on me. Any votes from here in the Lounge? Better yet, does anyone have any experience with working in a Virtual Machine w/ Windows environment, and would you recommend it?
