Phone upgraded
-
After my mobile provider told me 3 weeks back that I could only upgrade at the end of November, while I was checking my online invoice, I noticed that I was eligible for an upgrade, since 2 weeks ago already! Went to the store, got myself an HTC One X. Very nice so far. It runs so much faster than my Transformer Prime tablet that essentially have the same hardware/spec. :-D ASUS really conned us there...

But can it turn into a truck? ;P

I used to be an HTC fanboy (I own a Desire HD), till they decided that the Desire HD isn't worth the "customer hassle" to update to Android 4. And even though I've promised myself that I'll never buy an HTC again, the One X does sound really, really tempting. Congrats, good choice!

Why wait for HTC? There are already Jellybean builds for it! I got a Desire HD too. Unfortunately, bluetooth is still an issue (but the one kernel dev is working on it). Most other things work and runs quite nicely. I will be unlocking this baby after my 7 day return period and go to Jellybean, although I must say, the HTC software is not halve bad, just a pity with the bloatware, and the fact that Facebook and Google+ is on it.

That is not the only one they did not update. It actually seems to be a pattern of HTC. They simply stop the updates once they have a few newer models of phones out. Reason why I abandoned them as well. Granted I am sure their reasoning is a little more complicated (er maybe). I know they put the droid OS with in their own shell (or maybe its the other way around). Because of this the upgrade is a lot more complicated.

Have you tested the camera yet? Is it as good as they claim?

I asked exactly this in the Q&A like last week or so  I'd really love to hear more about it, as I was thinking to go with Ice Cold Sandwich. What are you running?

Yes, it is, but it basically boils down to this (for the DHD at least): "We don't upgrade because the phone contents need to be totally erased and we don't think our customers will like having their phones erased just to get Android 4"

Heard about that too. I can only :rose:, cause I know how that feels

No outdoor shots yet. But the 1080p video recording is pretty awesome :)
