I recently got a new Laptop for christmas we ordered it custumized to have a high capacity lithiom ion battery. I'm somewhat disapointed in finding out my battery only lasts for about two hours...:(( I'm wondering if they delivered it with the normal lithiom battery (woudln't that still last longer then two hours?) or if there could be some sort of defect. For some reason it just doesnt seem right to me. The package states it has a 12-cell lithom battery, does that sound right? Is there anything I should do before calling them? Sorry if it bothers you I posted this here "We will thrive in the new environment, leaping across space and time, everywhere and nowhere, like air or radiation, redundant, self-replicating, and always evolving." -unspecified individual

My Dell 8200 system came with the standard litum ion battery and if I dont burn any CDs with it, it lasts from 2 to 2.5 hours depending on use. ******************** * $TeVe McLeNiThAn ********************

My Compaq only lasted about 2 hours on one battery (which was fairly old anyway), so I got a new one and put them both in. It lasts about 5-6 hours now. I'm happy. :-D

Try to reduce the CPU power consumption when using batteries - this is of paramout importance. Try using Intel SpeedStep or some other such tool.
