We've been discussing how geography affects technology; specifically, wondering how c# usage compares to java by number of developers. Anyone know of such stats? A nice map/chart would be cool, too.

Well, all I can contribute is that here in Albany NY, it seems that most development is for Oracle and Java, while in NYC it seems to be SQL Server and C#/.NET. Marc

I suspect that the Syracuse-Albany region is primarily Oracle and Java because of the government agencies with offices in that area. Outside that, like Rochester-Buffalo and NYC, you'll see a lot more .NET.

Actually, a lot of it seems to be driven by the medical / insurance companies up here in Albany. Marc
