Hey, with the amount that's left,
Not sure what you mean, however in the US currently there is an unprecedented right to free speech, more so than in any time in the past and more so than even in the relatively recent past. Certainly more so for example than in 1950 and probably measurably compared to 1970. And vastly more possibilities for dessiminating it as well in just the past 50 years.

I still think that corporate buyouts should be illegal under the 14th Amendment, which prohibits slavery...

More than in the past? More than in most other countries, I'd believe, but not more than in the past...

Incorrect. Pornography is freely available now. And one time you would face jail time for depictions that now occur in mainstream movies and even commmonly available print and broadcast TV. Promoting homosexuality in the past would lead to criminal prosecution. Or worse violence which was not punished. Where 'promoting' means speaking in any way about it that was not negative. Speaking out in almost any public way against an employer could lead to criminal prosecution and even violence against an employee. Print/tv/radio were under very strict restrictions as to what could be posted. Protests based on anything but the most innocuous subjects would be met with real jail time and even police initiated violence. And at one time prosecution for blasphemy was possible which extended even to cussing. Photographs that one can now go to a studio and pay them to take could at one time lead to jail time even when between consenting adults (and of course used as evidence in criminal prosecution.) Institutionalization was a common methodology for removing undesirables from a neighbood. Presuming of course that the police didn't just drive them out the county line and tell them to take a hike (maybe with a bit of a beating to drive the point home.) As I also noted individuals also have many more possible venues for expressing themselves.
