Yup, me too. In fact I'm getting to really dislike Javascript for causing the current explosion in framework diorrohea. Why can't we have a new scripting language for the web? This is nuts.

JQuery is difficult to understand but it is very powerful and the benefits are great. I bought a book that really helped me and when I googled for a link to the book I found the eBook online for free, google "beginning javascript and css development with jquery pdf". It's a very basic book but really helped me.

Yeah... perhaps it should be restated as "We dislike what we'd like/care to understand but can't". :laugh: (or something like that).

We fear what we do not understand and some people hate what they fear, others are motivated to overcome the fear by trying to understand. When they have the understanding then familiarity breeds contempt. I prefer to skip all that nonsense and simply despise jQuery from the off for its association with JavaScript X| Saves a lot of time effort and disappointment that way.

I also used to hate jQuery... Today I know the basics of it and it's being a lot helpful. Thankfully there're docs so I can get myself around. :laugh: But I agree completely to @dusty_dex: In fact I'm getting to really dislike Javascript for causing the current explosion in framework diorrohea. Do yourself a favor and learn the hell out of it. jQuery is the only reason I dislike JavaScript less than I dislike VB. :rolleyes:
