If you haven't already, check out the latest edition of the Need For Speed game: Hot Pursuit 2[^]. There are versions for the PS2, GC, XBox, and PC, but supposedly the PS2 version is the best. That's the one I have and it's a blast, especially trying to ditch those pesky cops. :-) They have all the cars in your link, except the Enzo. But they have a couple of McClaren F1s in there that blow the doors off the rest (240 mph top speed!). The McClaren is from the late 80s/early 90s, but it's still unmatched in performance. It is surprising that Mercedes, BMW and Jaguar does not have commercial cars in that speed range, considering that along with Ferrari they are among the top in F1. We have miles and miles of road where 100 MPH+ is safe - not legal mind you but safe. Other than the Autobahn I can think of no area in the world quite like it. And BTW there ain't no sissie looking bike out there to keep up with the Harley - take a look at the new H-Rod . Also BTW anybody that riders a bike at any speed over 60 on the highway is crazy. You can be killed by a flying beetle ( insect - not car ) or a piece of trach in the road. The dirvers here are just fucking nuts. I see single car accidents at least once a week here...every body thinks they are Jeff Gordan. And God forbid you like to drive at reasonable speeds; I am sick of being "tail gated" while driving in the slow lane at 70 mph. McLaren F1 is _the_ fastest legal street car ever produced (whatever "legal" means). It's a disgusting monster! It's an F1-machine in a street car skin... The mclaren site used to have videos of it accelerating up to 240 mph, and it was amazing. The Bugatti Veyron is also a monster. I can't remember the exact figures on 0-120 mph, but I do remember that it was faster than what the ordinary semi-sports car does on 0-60 mph. -- Ignorant people upsets me.

What ya gonna do. There is a real good bumper sticker around here that says "Texas - if you don't love it take 20 East" :) If you want to be a good driver you keep up with the traffic. OK OK I'm kidding - a little. That TexAss thing kinda bugged me but you can't teach a furrinerr anything about Texas anyway. Drivers here are no worse than any others actually. Try CA or NY or HJ for some real nuts. Its just that our roads are generally well maintained wider flat and straight and its hard to poke along at 60-70 mph when driving say from Dallas to Houston. I just find me a semi doing about 85-90 and tuck in behind him. That way I amd saving gas and time. As far as the big SUV's are concerned I am in partial agreement but the Gov. has caused it. I would say that a pickup is a better vehicle but now you can't haul people in the back of a pickup and if you generally haul 10 or so little soccer players around or you need more room than a car and sometimes have to haul more than 3 grownups or some plywood from Home Depot or 10 -15 sacks of mulch what is left. We go on hunting and fishing trips all the time that envolved 5 or 6 fairly big men. We can all fit into an Expidition or a Grand Cherokee but in a car there ain't no way. In the old days we had pickups and three or so would set in back. Now Illegal. Guess we could all take our own vehicles but that is not any fun. I have heard tales of 0-60 in 3.00 seconds and top ends of 265 and better. Cost of one of these monsters is about 1/5 - 1/4 of a McClaren. Hey ever heard of the Mercedes SLR ? And btw Volkswagen bought the Bugatty lable and will come out with a W16 engine with 1001 HP using that label (more than 400 km/h -> 250 MPH) :omg::omg::omg: A conclusion is the place where you got tired of thinking.

I would think though with your long highways that top-end speed would be considered an important thing. Sure, if you are talking top-end speed then fine, the Harley wins because it just does have bigger lungs and can just go faster and faster and faster and faster without topping out. But there is a reason why you don't see Harley's racing in the Grand Prix or Mans TT races. A Honda, Ducati, Kawasaki etc. will wipe the track floor with the Harley, and they will also wipe the Harley in most real world conditions, except long stretches. In town to. It does not really matter though: I like Jap and Italian bikes. I like Jap and European cars, they suit my sense of style and taste. That is just my taste and what I have been brought up on. You on the other hand have been brought up on American muscle cars and there is nothing wrong with that, your preference.
