      MSE - works for me!

The only instant messaging I do involves my middle finger. English doesn't borrow from other languages. English follows other languages down dark alleys, knocks them over and goes through their pockets for loose grammar.

Depending on what you want: If you want something easy to start go for UBUNTU. If you want to get dirty in Linux internals, go for DEBIAN. There are plenty of options in between. As a server, I've only tested redhat (and it truly works well) but CENTOS is the "free redhat version" something based on redhat that's free. Try it there are plenty of them that are free, test, and if you are not happy, change it.

I personally like Fedora Linux. Very user-friendly.

It is included in Win8. Just make sure Defender is turned on.
