I think I might be addicted. No, not to CodeProject (I accepted that years ago), and not to cigarettes or alcohol, but to bloody Elmo from that Sesame street game I linked to yesterday morning. I just can't stop counting those eggs to hear him sing! The first twenty or so times I returned to the game I thought it was funny, a novelty even, but now it is just plain getting out of hand. I keep finding windows open in the background with the game loaded, and just like that addiction I suffered from for many months where I kept pressing the degauss button on my monitor every five minutes, I can't resist the urge to stop clicking on those damned eggs! Any time I manage to hold onto the thought "close the window David, it's 6:30 am on a Sunday morning, you should be in bed", I just can't resist a quick click, and then he'll say "1" so I'll have to keep going till he does his little song, and as I'm sitting there listening to him sing I am already lining the mouse up for the next round. And I'm dancing to it too! And clicking my fingers so ferociously the skin is starting to burn. I even sing! I never sing! I'm typing this message to the flippin' tune for goodness sake. I've deleted the URL from my favourites but it doesn't help - I kow it off by heart. The content id is five tripple nine two nine five and Internet Explorer think's it's being helpful by autocompleting it every time! "Elmo's chickens - he's not scared Elmo's always well prepared And he meets all kinds of people every day Elmo's chickens - hear 'em cluck Hear Elmo call and hear them squawk Watch Elmo rule his roost and strut around the coup Elmo's got great legs - and it's a good thing he likes eggs! We almost think he gobbles down some delicious chicken soup - YUM!" My hands are shaking too much to make this a clickety... http://www.sesamestreet.com/sesamestreet/games/flash.php?contentId=5999295 Please. For the love of... This is *not* normal! Help me!

Yeah, some dickhead arsehole fecked things up when he used javascript to replace the CP ads Gator-style with a stupid hard core pr0n one, so Chris had no choice but to blacklist everything that could be used to do that again. Makes perfect sense from Chris' pov (I'd have done the same), but if I find out who that person was... :( He took it too far, surely that could count as defamation of the web site, and then couldn't some kind of action be taken (even if it is merely a formal gesture) to say: "no, don't do this". Still, at least my rating's still live on though you'll need to use your brain to work them out now. Oh wait, this is the SoapBox - I could have said what I *really* thought about him.
