I've been coming to this website for almost a decade without participating, and is known in the programming community as a place to go for solid news. I am finding out that this website seems to be more based around rumors. I was hoping that this site would be up front about the build conference in march and instead there were links posted in the newsfeed that someone said the words Windows 9 were actually uttered at build.

Got your dates wrong. There is a Microsoft Windows Press Event on September 30 in San Francisco. The rumor was that the Windows 9 Technical Preview would be released during this, though Microsoft never confirmed this nor have they disclosed what they will be announcing, if anything.
Thank you. It would be amazing if the newsfeed had news about the Press Event and not the rumor - which is my point.

Microsoft never said there was a press event on September 20. Again, they have not stated what the September 30 press event is for, so no matter what happens, it proves nothing and makes the statement "it might not happen on the 30th" completely irrelevant. Also amusing that you have no source for the 20th (which, again, was probably a typo for the reasons I gave.) Your modus operandi seems to be to take one person's claims and make them representative of everyone as a whole or even Microsoft. You also take things that are known and documented and simply claim they aren't true without any supporting evidence.
When the actual date is - isn't the point but that it hasn't happened when the last person who was shooting me down said it would happen, I really don't care who said it, and it looks like it wont happen on the 30th either. If the newsfeed on this site was about the press event and confirmed information it would be easier to tell fact from fiction. so? it clearly says that what everyone ASSUMED would happen may not, please look up assumed and see its definition, just because the world in general expects MS to do something is no reason for MS to do it if they feel its not ready. You seem to have a big problem with CP do don't happen to have shares in a competitor do you? or do you troll all IT sites with the same comments as it would seem that just about every site in the world are saying pretty mush the same as CP
