I'll go on the assumption that you're on the payroll of some well funded leftist organization I wish! I'm laid off due to the Bush Recession. I could use the money.

The Bush Recession? Fortunately, the people who know better know that it's not Bush who caused the current state of the economy. In fact, Bush has been trying to stimulate it, with tax cuts, and other such incentives. It's just so much easier to say the "Bush Recesion" rather than the Post-9/11 economic situation, which was already heading down back when Clinton was finishing his term. *sigh* Good luck Ed, Alvaro

The result may be the same, but the way it's carried out isn't. One has the sole purpose of causing death and destruction for the purpose of terrorism. The other is for the purpose of winning a conflict, a war! And yes, war does have collateral damage. Terrorism doesn't. Terrorism is all about killing as many innocents as possible. jan larsen wrote: You really believe that, don't you?... Yes, I do. OK, so should the US go changing all the oppressive regimes of the world? It would be great, but it's not realistic. The US has unfortunately had a very inconsistent policy when it comes to these regimes. That doesn't mean it shouldn't start somewhere. I for one, wish the US would put an end to the tyrant whose been terrorizing my country for the past 44 years, just 90 miles south of the Florida keys. I'm sure the North Koreans would love to get rid of their tyrant too. jan larsen wrote: He may also be an alien, sent down to destroy the heroic American people. Yes! :-) Hadn't thought of that one. Did you recognize him? ;P Regards, Alvaro

Ahem!, Osama claims that what he did was also an act of War, to use that argument, you have to believe that an attack can be justified. Alvaro Mendez wrote: And yes, war does have collateral damage. Talk to anyone who was there during those years and they'll tell you Batista was not even 1% as bad as the evil bastard of the past four decades. Hey, I hear Cuba has a shortage of good, genuine communists. Go for it Ed, they could really use you there. Oh, and don't forget to blame all their problems on the US embargo. Regards, Alvaro

Bush has been "president" for almost 2 1/2 years. It's time to admit that he is in charge and is responsible for our lack of progress. Go on, you can do it. Repeat the phrase "president Bush" until you begin to believe it a little.

I hate to extend this, but it's actually good to hear that you know something about the evils of Communism. Cubans know it well too. The brave ones fought against it, and unfortunately they relied on US support back in the Bay of Pigs fiasco. Some of them died, in battle, on the streets, and inside prisons. Heck, my dad was sent to jail for 3 years when he was just 17. Had he been a year older, he would have been there another 10 years at least. When you look at what's happening in Venezuela today, you begin to realize that it's very tough to depose the tyrant in power when he's in full control of the military. After a while, you lose hope, life goes on, you get married, have kids, and you start thinking of providing them a future in a free society. That's why many people opt for a way out, rather than rot in a jail or die fighting. And the ones who do fight, most people never hear of -- except once in a while in a Cuban radio station in Miami. The American media just shows the ones risking their lives trying to escape. As far as Poland goes, it took them over 40 years to liberate themselves from the Communists (according to this[^]). Cubans have been at it for 44 years so far. Hopefully their day will come soon. Regards, Alvaro
