Hi! I am in a quest for affordable and very portable laptop to ease my commuting experience (and when I seek refuge from family  ). Yesterday I've stumbled upon afore mentioned machine (older review). One I found is barely used and upgraded with 256 GB ssd disk and 8GB of ram. Specification: Intel 2117U 8GB ram SSD 300GB 11.6'' monitor Intel HD Graphics 4000 USB 3.0 & USB 2.0 port HDMI port In theory this is well above VS2013 minimum requirements, what's your verdict? Price is also the factor, here (Croatia) similar laptop (but with less ram and HDD instead of SSD) costs around 570$, this one I can get under 390$. Only constructive advice, please. ;)

My biggest concern would be the display. 1366x768 is going to be painful with any sort of IDE. IF you're a text editor/console dev it might be tolerable, but you'll still have a lot less usable space than you're used to on a real monitor. Otherwise, the specs look decent as long as you're not trying to do something like build Firefox or Chrome every time you click compile. :omg:

Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason? Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful? --Zachris Topelius Training a telescope on one’s own belly button will only reveal lint. You like that? You go right on staring at it. I prefer looking at galaxies. -- Sarah Hoyt

What Dan said. You might want to look for a cheap monitor to expand the available space.
