Now that you know the result, you will not enjoy it as much as I did, watching it live. :) After I finished biting my nails, I had to go look for a pencil. The whole innings of Sachin was awesome. And Sehwag's innings too. Short, but sweet. 21 off 14 deliveries. Huge six, and some fours. India's score was 50 after 5 overs. 120 after 15 overs. Whooooo!!! :cool:

Still am. :-D Tomorrow will be another match to watch out for, when England plays Australia. They have the same kind of traditional rivalry between them as India and Pakistan, when it comes to Cricket. I love fireworks in the Cricket ground. :)

And the fact that they were batting second in a day-night match didn't help matters for them. But hopefully they will bounce back with full confidence and announce themselves to the world. I am trying my best to get people to overcome this feeling of hate, because it is not going to get us anywhere. And I am also trying to get the support of some Pakistani people on CP here to do the same thing in Pakistan. Politicians and religious leaders cannot solve the problem. They had their chance for all these years, and they have only made the situation worse. And what is worse, they don't want to solve the problem, because this is how they can ensure their win in the next elections. It's all their creation. It is now up to us, the people, the common man on the street, to get up and do something. I believe that when the people in India and Pakistan stop hating each other, the problem will automatically be solved and we can be friends again. Anyway, I am rambling now, someone stop me. :~

Brilliant, brilliant match!! Loved every minute of it. Too bad Sachin could not get to his century, but what a rollicking start by Sehwag and the little master. I hope Paul is wrong about the riots. Sports is suppose to bring people together and not create further rifts. Sad state of affairs, if this is indeed true. I did not hear anything so far though. On this wicket if Bangladesh was playing in place of India, the results would have been the same. There was no chance at all for Pakistan to win this one after scoring less than 320. The pitch was not supporting bowlers at all. Sachin, of course is a big asset of India team. BTW, we are still not out of the tournoument. We will watch Sunday's match with more entusiasm that the India's match. If Aussies kill England then we may reach super sixes and have one more chance to take revenge from India in Semis

If i am not wrong, then i think that Pakistani government has not made any restriction on their team to play against India. India is itself not playing with Pakistan as i read from CNN-SI that "under the hood" Indian government has a fear of public reaction if the lose against Pak.

Sigh. I don't know about the Pakistani government, but yes, Indian government has placed restrictions on playing any sport, not just Cricket with Pakistan, in either India or Pakistan. But on neutral grounds, when more than just India and Pakistan are playing, there are no restrictions whatsoever. And before you mention Sharjah, let me tell you that Sharjah is a different story altogether. We don't go to Sharjah to play since a number of years now, much before these restrictions were imposed. These restrictions are not because "the government is afriad of losing the match and hence losing face", as some pseudo-know-all-but-actually-stupid "journalist" puts it. Winning and losing is a part and parcel of every game. The restrictions are there because of safety concernes and as a protest against the alleged support to terrorists from Pakistan. This is not just in sports, but in all activities.

I would have agreed with you except for the fact that Pakistani bowlers can blow the Bangladeshis away with half a fart in their general direction. India did bat well, and that was the reason they won. As for the pitch supporting batsmen, both Pakistan and India got a chance to bat. You can't say that India won just because the pitch supported batsmen. What happened to Pakistani batsmen then? Though I won't call it revenge, as you put it. And if this is any comfort to your bleeding heart, let me tell you that in all the ODI matches between India and Pakistan, including yesterday's, India has won 30, and Pakistan has won 52! That's a lot of difference, isn't it? But so far India has never lost to Pakistan in a world cup match. :)
