Don't even get me started. My wife isn't covered through my work insurance, so we have an independant plan. Unfortunately she had to use it for keto acidosis recently. So that's when we find out how crappy the $300 per month plan actually is. So with her diabetes if nothing goes wrong, on the same plan, just to be regular we're in for 15k per year. Perscriptions over $300 each till we reach the deductible. Stuff like that. I'm not happy at all

Move to Canada. Or England. Or France. Or Cuba. Etc. I find the US opposition to a national health system unbelievable. To me, it's one of the main pillars for a good government.

I got sick the 26th of last month. I had some cough and congestion, so I decided I wouldn't work out till I was feeling better. I went to work Friday, but after that was in bed. It only got worse really. Cold inside, sweats, bad cough, fatigue, dizziness, etc. Saturday (28th) I went to the hospital. They thought it was strep cause my nodes were all swollen and so were my tonsils. I tested negative for strep so they sent me home. I thought that was kind of odd. The only test they did was strep swab. No listening to the chest, no blood work, no nothing. It obviously wasn't a cold, but they said it was a virus and to come back if it got worse. Also that it would probably last 7 - 10 days, but I should start feeling better after a couple days. I got flonaze and some medicated logenzes. I was in bed till Tuesday (31st) , even called off work. So the dizziness and extreme fatigue went away, but I still had a nasty cough, some sinus problems, chest congestion, and labored breathing. I was also still having some coughing fits that were pretty regular, and very extreme. So I got back to the hospital Yesterday. No way I should still be sick, and nothing is changing at all. I'm getting so sick of coughing and feeling like crap. The doc listened to my breathing, even through the coughing. He said I have stuff in my lungs and the coughing isn't clearing the air ways. He says Bronchitis, and he's worried that it will turn into pnemonia. I got a round of antibiotics, some stuff to surpress my cough since it isn't productive, more flonaze, mucinex, and a couple other things. I'm not allowed to exercise at all until I'm better. And if it's not getting better in a couple days I'm to report back. I took the rest of Yesterday off after the doc, and I plan to go home after lunch today (I work 6-3 so there's only 2 hrs after lunch). I just want to rest and get better. I'm tired of being sick.

Hope you feel better. I get very upset when doctors/nurses tell be things like what you have stated. Make sure it is not bronchitis, because that can actually turn into pneumonia if not treated early. Other than that, I am not going to give you any other medical advice; not a doctor, not going to pretend to be one, even if I did sleep at a Holiday Inn, 2 years ago. :) See, even the strongest of warriors can be brought to their knees by health issues. Keep your chin up.

Yikes. DO NOT over exert yourself. Listen to all they say...please. My friend had bronchitis --> pneumonia. Took him 3 months to get better.
