If only there was a site that provided articles about all sorts of development topics catering to all levels. Maybe that could be your code buddy.

well, group coding is awesome. If we are two friends and coding on same topics. We can help each other and we can move rapidly. Thats why codebuddy can help us in learning coding.

At some point, you need someone who knows more than you do to point out where you can do things better, and where you are going wrong.

I dont think this is a mentoring. Its more like two friends sitting together and coding same projects. If one get stuck, other help him out. If both get stuck than post on codeproject. It will also help in motivation department.

I've never been a big fan of this approach because it's a very rare person who improves when they work just with people of the same level. There's no experience passed on. No one tells you that there are better ways to do it.

New version: WinHeist Version 2.1.1 new web site. I know the voices in my head are not real but damn they come up with some good ideas!

Sounds like a circle-jerknerd. As mentioned, such a group can only elevate its skill to the level of the highest member, so you definitely want to have someone with a lot more experience. Mentoring is a much better solution.

Definitely, Mentoring is the best option. But, its not easy to find a good mentor. Plus, both of these things are different. Mentoring and having a codebuddy are two totally different scenarios.

Why? Server-side web apps are dinosaurs. Learn how to write SPA's using things like backbone, jQuery, knockout, whatever. But don't waste your time on ASP.NET, Razor, or really anything else that Microsoft has done web-wise. Sure, use C#, that's great, but that's about it. Heck, don't even use IIS. Marc

Hmmm... Could be seen as a "Project", perhaps.
