Why not just pick up the original at fleabay? Edit: When the weather gets worse, I will take my copy of Jay Miner's[^] first chipset for a spin again. I never had one of the second 16 bit chipsets. For those who are confused: The first chipset was for the 8 bit Ataris, the second one for the Amiga.

Tape recorders are hard to get by now. Did they use a regular one or did they have a special little recorder with motor control?

It´s not Manic Miner, isn´t it!? i know i played that game, in fact not on the Sinclair but on the Commodore 64. It was difficult... but i can´t remember the name... :( :doh: [/OffTopic] EDIT: it IS Manic Miner! :rolleyes:

I think that was about the price when first it came out? Includes 'Chuckie Egg', 'Sinclair BASIC' and 'Game bundle (2) to access the device’s additional features and exclusive content hmmm...I have no desire to program in basic I wonder if any other languages will be available?
New version: WinHeist Version 2.1.1 new web site. I know the voices in my head are not real but damn they come up with some good ideas!

It's the first level of Manic Miner. [edit] I just checked and the version I have still runs on Win10 :cool:

For my old computer I now use an old notebook which loads and saves the data in WAV files over the speaker and microphone plugs. I also have a program that can recover the binary data from the WAV samples. How about writing a digital tape recorder program with which you can archive everything from the old tapes?

Mine (48k) cost £129.99, though the prices had dropped by then. The 16k version retailed for £99.99, but few games worked. According to this[^] ,they started off at £125 and £175 respectively.
