MWE Lab - Efficient Computer Work Environment for the Home or Office.[^]. I've managed to spec one up that costs more than my car, but that's partly a reflection of how little I'm prepared to spend on stuff.

KeithBarrow.net[^] - It might not be very good, but at least it is free!

I'm sorry, but this is the coolest thing I've seen in a couple of weeks. Feed and clothe the kids/buy toys, feed and clothe the kids/buy toys. Ugh, decisions. :-D

My chair wouldn't budge an inch so I made a swing arm for my keyboard and had to lift one of the arms to slide in or out of it. I think the solidity added to the comfort.

Another problem I would have is that I have an electronics bench next to the computer and I work a lot on it so not sure how I would handle that. The roll around chair that I have now is a relatively inexpensive model, therefore not real comfortable but to get one that suits the purpose and is comfortable would be out of my financial range.

I told my psychiatrist that I was hearing voices in my head. He said you don't have a psychiatrist!

You could try mount the frame on sofa castors. If you have a hard floor you can slide and rotate on it then. This will also give you some height and reduce the height of the frame needed slightly. I was looking at pictures of old Austin Maxi seats and none of them have armrests attached! I think the car at the scrapyard must have had custom seats fitted before the crash that landed it in the junkyard!

Yeah if the Maxi had arm rests sounds like it might be custom? I'm thinking maybe rails and have it swivel, but here we're getting into needing some sort of machine shop, which I don't have at my disposal.

            Oooh .... I want.

«There is a spectrum, from "clearly desirable behaviour," to "possibly dodgy behavior that still makes some sense," to "clearly undesirable behavior." We try to make the latter into warnings or, better, errors. There's a nice 3-monitor example on the sites home page MWE Lab - Efficient Computer Work Environment for the Home or Office.[^]

I actually made myself a chair for my computer desk by getting an old car seat from a junk yard. It was an old Austin Maxi 1800, I think. The top of the line model for it's time. It had arms on the seat and everything. Amazingly comfortable; I just made a heavy wooden frame to mount it on at a slightly reclining angle - great! I gave it to a friend when I moved house and have missed it ever since.

Did you keep the airbag for when your app crashes?

DO people not keep anything on their desks anymore? Seriously, I don't see a surface to lay a single 8.5"x11" sheet of paper on. [Edit] Oh, wait...I see this "side table" option. Still way too cramped for the way I work though.

Back when I did this, seat-belts were optional extras and airbags didn't exist!

:wtf: :omg:  *toys with options, sees price*

What do you get when you cross a joke with a rhetorical question? The metaphorical solid rear-end expulsions have impacted the metaphorical motorized bladed rotating air movement mechanism. Do questions with multiple question marks annoy you???
