How is it that there are Palestinian refugees 50 years on in a land that is so dominated by a religion of 'love and peace'. Refugees displaced in almost every other conflict have not been left to sit and rot for 50 years. The Palestinians have been used as a whipping post by the rest of the Arab world for years. Bushs statement that he would no longer deal with Arafat is probably the biggest step forward. Until the Palestinian death cult mentality is changed there will be no peace there. That's my take on it as well, but I have never spoken directly to an arab about this and I wanted to discuss it with Samer12 in the open. Maybe I could get his point of view. Not saying that I would agree with him, but I wouldn't be ignorant of the Arab view point.

The first thing to understand about this I think is that the conflict goes back so many generations that it's now impossible to try to say who was originally to blame. Obviously both sides have so many incidents they can quote against each other now, that it's very hard for them to "look outside the box" and be rational on this subject. Firstly, it's very sad that they can't get on. They are closely related. With regards to today's conflict, as far as I can tell muslims all round the world take the Arab side - even those from far off places like Bangladesh who don't have a drop of Arab blood in their bodies. The biblical wars and history on the issue go a long way back, and I am no scholar on the issue. However, they hated each other then as well. I am no scholar on the next phase either, but have read quite a bit about it. Surprisingly, Mohammed thought the Jews were a race to which his people should aspire. In fact, he invited them to come and live with the arabs, teach them their skills, medicine, etc. Sadly, when Mohammed died, as is so often the case, his word got twisted. His followers starting to persecute the Jews, saying they were now God's chosen people, and the Jews were now cursed. This is not unique in history, except that this time the Jews' religion had been incorporated into another community. The Jews left, and the hatred between Jews and Muslims was born. Around the 1880's Jews started an attempt to rebuild their homeland. Pilgrimages unlike anything we can imagine took place. Some of them spent 2 years walking from Russia to Isreal. Again, they took with them skills which were valuable. It's important to remember that because of their religion all Jewish males at least were educated. They had to be to read their scriptures. When they arrived in Palestine they found a land which alternated between swamp and desert. The people living there lived in relatively primative conditions, and welcomed the Jews in return for education and things like running water systems. Between this time and WW2 this continued, but relations started turning sour. The Jews bought desert and swamp, and turned it into arable land through pure hard labour. As far as I know, up until WW2 any land in the newfound country had been purchased (my reading of the events has been far more sparse from WW2 onwards, so I can't really comment on that). Once the land had been turned into high production farms the original owners felt they had been tricked. This lead to more hatred. When WW2 ended many J

I always heard that the '67 war was defensive for Israel. Egypt and Syria were building up and preparing to invade Israel so they launched a pre-emptive attack. The Jews controlled or lived in what is now called Palestine for approximately 1400 years. From the exodus out of Egypt, until around 70 AD when the Romans tried to eliminate jewish history (also called the Diaspora). Jews still lived in the area, but in much smaller numbers, evn up until the state of Israel was established. After WWI, there was a push for a jewish homeland (since Europe no longer wanted them) and Zionists began immigrating back to the land between the Mediteranean and the Jordan river. I know my history, and it wasn't written by the jews. Samer12 wrote: they even have the nerve to say that the pyramids is thiers What? :wtf:

I'm sure we don't see all atrocities committed by Israel and the Palestinians. Samer12 wrote: Islam is about peace, love we dont want any war You say Islam is about peace and love? Why are most arabs supporting suicide bombers and terrorists that fly airplanes filled with innocent people into large buildings filled with innocent people? Why do muslim clerics call for the killing of jews and americans? Samer12 wrote: we pray 5 times a day we fast with no food ,no water for 12 hours ,30days each year ,to feel how a poor man feel and help them, tell me does this look like an evil person who does all this, women wear vail(scarf to cover their hair)so as she is not wanted by other men except her husbend to hold love in between men and wives,we are commited to charity that we must pay a certain amount to the poor I'm an American and a Christian, so I respect your right to believe whatever you like. However, I would like to make a point about what you said above. 1) Is it mandated by Islam that you pray 5 times a day? In the Christian religion we are told to pray without ceasing. 2) Women wear vails Are the men not strong enough to withstand seeing a woman and not lusting for her? To me that says a lot about the amount of faith you have. 3) you must pay a certain amount to the poor If you must give a certain amount, its not charity, its taxation. Charity comes from the heart. It sounds like Islam is all about control. IMO, without a free and willing heart, men cannot know God and without God there is no Peace. That being said, your religion is your choice, just don't let your leaders or your own imperfect human judgement cloud your thinking. I don't know if Islam believes this is possible or not, but I ask you to pray for wisdom from God.

You may think this is a flippant answer, but it's not. The people in that region have a spiritual basis in tribal/familial ties. This results not only in a level of gross stupidity because people can't think for themselves, but it also leads to thousands of years of perpetuated hatred from the original ancestral tribes. To back up my point, I recently heard that many Saudi tribes have close ties with Iraqi tribes. Many Arabs in the region think that the Saudi's should come to the aid of the Iraqi's because of tribal blood ties. Now I'll fling some mud. Because these people have not evolved spiritually in the same way that the Western world has, they continue to perpetuate their hatred. This is not to say that Western spiritualism is the correct path either. It is now also suffering a considerable amount of decadence. CPian Samer, whom I completely ignore now, is another example of someone who perpetuates hatred. End of mud flinging. Marc Help! I'm an AI running around in someone's f*cked up universe simulator.
