It will continue as long as people on both sides continue to escalate the "**** those ****ers!" mentality (which, in the West, is wildly propagandised by those who make money out of the hatred). Life is simple if hate-free, but most people don't realise how hatred is a bad thing, because they're too enveloped in it. Lookit this way: If a man is ready to die for the country you support (in much the same way as you support a football team), you'll think him a hero; but if a man is ready to die for another country, you'll think he's a monster. But, by definition, they're the same person! Try thinking of both men as being simply men, and you'll realise that they're both nutters, who should be kept away from women and children at all costs.

Well, where to start. THESE DAYS Officers lost their mind because they are shooting non-armed men like an animal. Men's who has weapons shoot officers due robery,... to the current officers killing incidents on non armed men. Who has weapons? Officers definitely have weapons. So their judgment of using it should be on the right moment. I'm sure they already trained to do so. However not all have "graduated". For other people, weapon should be used by personal judgment, waiting on the right moment. Unfortunately it's hard to expect more from these people. It can go quickly out of control due to lack of patiency, mental issue,...

A incorrect blanket statement was made regarding U.S. people, based on the actions of a tiny, tiny minority. There is no strict 'right moment' when using guns, your perception of a situation is going to be wholey different than mine.

IMO, I don't think the OP is trying to generalize U.S as a whole. Hey there is a situation that you need to have a gun, to protect yourself from bad people. You may not use unless if necessary. At least you can scare them.
