It's great Trump won the election, but Democrats should view it a win, too. There are plenty of third-world dictatorships where crime families like the Clintons act above the law, and stopping the process early is way easier than reversing it; I'm happy Americans succeeded before it went further. Hopefully, over the next four years, the Democratic party cleans up the worst of its crime and corruption and fields better candidates. And, please, if you're happy Trump won, avoid framing it as a loss for the liberal-leaning people in society. Some were actually Trump supporters (and even those who weren't benefit from his win, too).

Trump is surely not above the law considering the 3500 lawsuits he was involved in the last couple of years, he is just ignoring it. Exclusive: Trump's 3,500 lawsuits unprecedented for a presidential nominee[^]

He won the Electoral College, not the popular vote... That means that the people didn't actually want him. Trump is right... The system is rigged :^)

I'm not disappointed that a republican won the office of President. Its the character of the candidate that I don't care for. The way he presented himself during the campaign I don't like. He said many offensive things to lots of people. I'm also worried that one party carries House, Senate, and President. More to your question, I would have preferred that Hillary won. While she is more of the same, I find her to be predictable. I believe that she would have protected the rights of more citizens and the environment.

Not necessarily. As of this time, not all of the votes are in. The popular vote is still too close to call. Google is reporting the Trump has 59,277,640 (48%) votes and Clinton has 59,469,593 (48%) with Arizona, Michigan and New Hampshire still tallying the absentee votes. This goes to show just how divided this nation has become. I, myself, am encouraged that we Americans can finally put this behind us and come together as one nation again.

When you are dead, you won't even know that you are dead. It's a pain only felt by others. Same thing when you are stupid.

That was my question as well. I know that MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News was asking that same question at 2:00 AM CST. It was quite unusual, but who knows. My point is that we live in a nation with so many cultures, religions, races, and creeds that hopefully the great experiment will succeed in a unified nation unlike any on earth. :-D

The system is still rigged, just not in the way the Republicans would have you believe to justify their voter suppression efforts. The problem is not with voters committing fraud. It's with the both the Republican and Democratic parties committing it.

I don't think absentee votes cannot be opened and counted ahead of the general election. If the vote counts get out before the general election, they can be used to sway it.

Sorry, I misread your comment. Per my original statement, I'm not been a fan of the electoral college no matter who is elected. I would prefer we just count individual votes. It was a convoluted low blow from me to try and make my point.

Oh I agree with you, the US system doesn't make much sense to me too, it IS unbalanced and singular votes should be counted. On that I completely agree with you.

I, myself, am encouraged that we Americans can finally put this behind us and come together as one nation again.

Don't count on that. We haven't been "one nation" for at least the last eight years.

Maybe so, but I still have faith in the American people. I think this was a hard lesson for all of us to learn. We aren't that different as people; we lack understanding of one another. If, that is a big IF, President-Elect Trump does the right thing and tries to unify America, we will be much better off.

When you are dead, you won't even know that you are dead. It's a pain only felt by others. Same thing when you are stupid.

He can't even unite the Republican party and I don't think he cares to. Trumps past dictates that he doesn't do anything that doesn't benefit him directly.

Only time will tell. The real unity will come from the American people and not one individual. President-Elect Trump may be an absolute disaster, but for the first time in a long time, there is hope. President Obama promised hope and change and didn't deliver; we just became more divided. What we need to do is stop listening to all of the negativity and focus on what is right for our families and the country. It's about what we leave behind to our grand children and the generations that come after. The real miracle here is that those of us who felt we didn't have a voice now realize that we do. There is real hope now because of that fact and not just some politician making promises he/she can't keep. Keep in mind that what did happen was a majority of not just whites, but of all races, creeds, and religions coming together to support a break from the status quo. Anyone who says otherwise is either willfully blind or can't accept reality.

When you are dead, you won't even know that you are dead. It's a pain only felt by others. Same thing when you are stupid.

We should be sad Hillary lost, even Republicans. Read that and think about how you feel. It's exactly what you just said, but from the other perspective...
