I don't think they will start a war with the US

Neither do I - that would just be dumb. I was commenting on your implication that if the US left the EU to take care of itself and they befriended Russia there would be "less war, more love". History tells us the opposite.

Meh! The US has run a trade deficit with the EU for decades. It helps us economically if we start "rolling our own".

Of course, just another trade war, who cares?

It would be unfortunate but I'd prefer a trade war with the EU rather than continued lopsided US military expenditures (both lives and $) in their defense. Can you offer even a single rational reason why Europe shouldn't defend themselves?

Actually, it' America's mess. We went in and started messing with Syria.

How? As far as I saw the US stayed well out of it.

US lives expenditures defending the EU hellooooooo :) I don't think the EU will pay any US demands. If anything they may ask the US to pack and leave. We will see. Interesting times.

We helped instigate it. Nothing bad happens in the middle east without US involvement.

The Arab Spring was nothing to do with the US.

Nope, I've got nothing, zilch, zero, nill. Europe should put together a sizeable army, invest in their own military technologies and stop buying anything from the US.

This is what's called "Draining the Swamp". So, yes we all can take it. Go Trump!
