Hello, the CPians around the world.;) While I am answering the survey from Microsoft, I found two interesting questions. What are your expectations of sample code? Select all that apply: I expect it to demonstrate coding of technically challenging areas of the technology. I expect it to demonstrate coding of all significant areas of the technology. I expect it to show the best way to code for the technology. I expect to be free to integrate it into my own code. None of the above In fact, I like this question so much. X| How do you use sample code? Select all that apply: I just look at it, and then I write my own code. I paste it into my own code just to see how it works. I use it instead of writing the code myself. This was a title given to Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Gandhi for the rest of the world, but this was his full name) out of respect for his ideals and all that he did for India. Something like "Saint", or maybe even "Sir", etc. You don't say Saint was a smart guy, or Sir was a smart guy, etc. :)

I look at the sample and then do my own code too. Actually, I look at the sample code only if I find the thing cool and want to learn how to do it. In most of the cases however, I am too busy to do it myself at that moment, so by the time I get around to doing it, I forget where the sample was, so I have to do it on my own anyway. And also, till you do it yourself, you are not going to learn. Just copy pasting might serve the purpose now, but what about later?
