I was looking for a service like this a couple of years ago but didn't find it then and I ended up buying a Mac Mini. Checkout - MacinCloud - compare plans[^] Here are some of the specs: + Dual Core Processor + 8GB of RAM (see Addons tab below to upgrade to 16GB of RAM) + macOS High Sierra 10.13.5 (Supports Xcode 9.4.1 and the latest Visual Studio for Mac with Xamarin components + 100Mbps Port Speed - Included + Includes pre-installed XCode 9.4.1, Visual Studio for Mac and more. I think I'm going to try this out for a while. You get 3 hours of daily access for $20 month. The entire problem I have with doing more iOS development is that it isn't available in my "down times". Now it could be available from anywhere (via RDP). This is pretty cool. Have any of you tried this out? EDIT I signed up. You get a 24-hour trial for only $0.99 USD. Amazing how fast it is really. This could be a cost effective way for us Win10 people to do iOS dev. I'm still not sure how they measure your 3 hours of daily time and what happens when your time is up. For Managed Subscription Plans: For example, in a 3-hour daily limit plan, the user is allowed to be logged in for 3 hours per day total. The user may login multiple times per day and will not be charged for additional hours as long as the total login time does not exceed the daily limit. Please remember to log off the Mac account by using the Apple Icon > Log out after each usage.
Thanks for the link! The VSTS Build Agent plan looks very interesting. It could be the catalyst for getting me to start building for iOS (via Xamarin). :cool: /ravi

This has to be for someone doing mac development as a side gig. I don't see how you could get much done in only three hours. :confused:

Yeah, it's not a ton of time. However, the next tier is $25 for 5 hours each day. And then it goes to 8 hours after that, but I'm not sure how much per day. But, if you can't afford a Mac and you want to start learning to dev iOS apps it could be pretty nice.

A coworker used this when he did a Xamarin course and had to develop for iOS as well. Last I heard is that it worker pretty well for him.

Actually, if you are using Xamarin you can do 70%+ on your local (Windows) machine and use the virtual Mac only for debugging/testing... In that way (less comfortable) you can do a lot in 3 hours...

I tried this service last year and wasn't impressed; I hit periods where high usage meant that it wasn't responding as rapidly as I would have liked. To be honest, you can pick up a Mac Mini for next to nothing so why not go that route instead?
