http://www.ex.ac.uk/cimt/general/pi10000.htm The number Pi calculated. Anybody knows a link with more precision? (Or a proper way to calculate Pi? Wasn't it 4 * atan(1) ? :confused: -- Alex Marbus www.marbus.net

Adjust the following code to taste:
#include <stdio.h>
int a=10000,b,c=2800,d,e,f[2801],g;main(){for( ;b-c; )f[b++]=a/5;for(;d=0,g=c*2;c
-=14,printf("%.4d",e+d/a),e=d%a)for(b=c;d+=f[b]*a,f[b]=d%--g,d/=g--,--b;d*=b);}No idea where I came across this little gem. cheers, Chris Maunder

Only sick people would calculate Pi to 10000 decimal places. ;P :cool: I remember at a school book, when we learn about Pi, a small paragraph that said about ancient countries (greek, egyptian, phynics) and how many d.places of Pi they knew and how close or far from true they were. Till then i assume that the persision in Pi digits is a direct measure of the humankind Technological advantage. ;) On the other hand i read somewhere that the first 100 digits of Pi are more than enough to set the route of a spaceship to the most distanced known star. ;P But if people calculating Pi are sick what about those who know by heart the first 100,200,500,1000 or ever 3141 digits? X| On my opinion there more sick people on this planet, like those who watch the movie "Pi", twice. :) (...I did.) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Memory leaks is the price we pay \0 01234567890123456789012345678901234

Watching a movie more than once is OK; I have seen The Matrix, Ronin and others many times. But learning the first 100, 200, 500, 1000 or more is a waste of time. Atleast you get good entertainment by seeing a good movie agian. And BTW: For what you had to pay that price? :)
