Humans have five senses There are at least 12 primary senses. Here's a couple more: sense of self (or "I") sense of balance (physical) I can't remember the list. I'm too wasted on the chocolate cake we had for dessert at "Turtle Soup" in Narragansett RI to think clearly right now (or was it the Cayman's Delight drink???) Oh wait. My girlfriend just found them for me. "Will Senses" (directed at one's own body): touch, life, movement, balance "Feeling Senses" (relation of man to the world): Smell, Taste, Sight, Warmth "Cognitive Senses" (directed inward): Spiritual/Social, Hearing, Speech, Another's thoughts, Another's I Ever read Crick's "Astonishing Hypothesis"? Also read "Vital Dust". If you need the author's name (Duval, or something like that), email me. Another nobel laureate. Definite pre-requisites to this subject matter, I would think. Anyways, I'm sure it won't surprise you if I say that I think the AI community doesn't have a clue. I've put a lot of thought into this stuff, met Timothy Leary, lived with a Shaman, done some neuron simulations from the biological point of view, and in high school tried to model my first girlfriend's emotional state on an HP programmable calculator. I'll leave it up to you if you'd like to hear more ravings from Marc's corner of the universe. :-D Marc Help! I'm an AI running around in someone's f*cked up universe simulator.

I have done some reading, and will have to read the books you mentioned. also, but the way I am looking at thing, currently, we all learn by concepts. I believe the self would develop after certain concepts are learned. I have read something about the sixth sense, in my book some where, again I believe we can tap into this crap, we just need the knowledge/concepts. Nothing really new, but it works out if you go by this basic rule of concepts.
