Feedback hub on Windows 10 just asked me about Google Chrome. It said MS will use my feedback to improve their products. So, when did they buy Google? Proof that it did ask me this![^] I believe person who had the task to write code for asking for feedback when MS browser (IE or Edge) is closed was too optimistic. Instead of writing code for specific browser, they assumed default browser will be one of the two!

They are switching Edge to use the Chromium engine, maybe they just want to know what they are getting themselves into. Microsoft's Edge Browser to Adopt Google's Chromium Engine[^]

so we could screw them up big time.... if everyone replied "the only thing wrong with chrome is it sucks" maybe they'll bring back edge ie11 internet explorer 8 (= their most successful browser ever)

That doesn't say MS own Google, it's checking on your happiness with Chrome, and using that to determine if Edge is likely to be used instead. The more likely you are to recommend Chrome, the more they need to improve IE / Edge. And boy, do they ever need to improve Edge ... still a pile of cat poo. Only thing it does nicely is read some ebooks.

I selected not at all likely and gave a feedback stating edge is the best. You can thank me later.

Wow. In a sad way. They can't come up with a decent browser? I am not saying it is easy to make a browser but then we are talking about MS here. They are a huge company.

Old habits die hard. If they only made Edge look exactly like IE[*] (and then eventually switch to the Chrome engine, whenever that'll take place) then I'd switch in a heartbeat. [*] Yes, IE is still my default browser. Unlike Chrome, its private mode does clear everything (or at least it gives a better impression that it does than Chrome).
