Don't worry, you'll forget about those silly curly braces and semi-colons eventually.

Yes. Yes he will. Sometimes I write

in C++. Or Next at the end of for loops. IT lives. IT wants to be fed. IT won't let you go.

If you can handle VB6, you can handle anything. Those who can, do. Those who cannot, teach. Your burgerflippers are the part that fail even at teaching.

Ahhh, the 'no money for the rewrite' took me weeks, ended up doing a C# version at the weekend for my own benefit. The people in charge needed to use it, so I gave them my C# version while I was working on the VB version, the exe ran faster and was smaller I was asked why I still converting the VB... :wtf:

Tell me how you really feel... Yeah, I don't have much choice in the matter. Thankfully, it's a relatively simple application.

Isn't that the truth! I looked at the code, and I'm thinking ewwww and that's just with the syntax.

I have a feeling we may see some new posts at the Weird and Wonderful forum...which imho should be renamed WTE! as that's more in line with the content. :) So, at least you got the VB6 IDE to work. Hopefully you aren't stuck with a bunch of third-party dependencies. Good luck! :)

VB6 wasn't a bad tool. I could do pretty much anything I needed to with it, there was a lot of business apps as well as things like assemblers, game emulators and useful utilities written in VB6. I'm sure at one point I saw a VB6 first edition of UnrealEd floating around. VB.NET on the other hand, well, you may as well use C#, I find converting VB6 across to C# quite therapeutic, I don't think I'm a sadist...
