Mine originally bought the mower for himself, but I learned to drive on it years before I was allowed behind the wheel of a car.

That's about $95 more than I'd consider giving to a kid who's almost assured to lose/break it within a year.

It's also SOP for almost all of the fly by night clowns guilty of foisting the #internetofshit on the rest of the world and why I refuse to use any such products.

It's a basic smart watch for kids. Has GPS tracking, and has a feature where the kid can text or voice call a select list of recipients (usually dad/mom/nanny).

And here I was going to make a suggestion for [this](https://i.pinimg.com/564x/67/11/3c/67113c296947689c03da5426e887ce3b.jpg) Gizmo...y'know, from Gremlins... I need to stop being so literal.

I don't have any Apple products at home - no phone/laptop/tablet/other-device. So I am not sure I want to spend that kinda money when there's no existing ecosystem to fit it into.

Is that you, Bill Gates? I'm with you. Although I do own a MacBook laptop--but only because I wanted to learn how to get around with MacOS and not be completely useless when faced with a Mac. Although I bought it used, just to make sure Apple never got a penny from me. I refuse to contribute to that fund.

I avoid as much as possible to have kids confronted to smart devices, so a smart watch is certainly the last thing I would buy them. :~ First, I do not know what possible electromagnetic waves these cheap chinese hardware are emitting (with cheap I mean the quality, not the price), so it does not sound healthy to get one permanently on a child's arm, and then, I have to battle already much so that they do not spend hours on our tablets/phones/etc... so a watch is definitely a no go.

Cavemen should never have left their caves. We've been constantly bombarded with far worse cosmic radiation ever since.

Looking for some feedback and suggestions on what model / provider to get it from. Thanks. There seems to be dozens of knock-offs, and it's hard to tell what's what. :~

If so, make sure it doesn't get wet after midnight.

My teenagers have got Garmin smartwatches and they seem to work well. I find it helps them keep track of how active they are and keeps them motivated. The ones with music are really cool! Two of my sons have Vivoactive3 and one has just got a Forefunner because his sport is running. If my kids were a little younger I would definitely look at the Garmin Vivoactive with Verizon because it is great to know they can contact you if they need to without them having to have a cellphone to carry around.
