Being a UK Citizen and limited to 5 terrestial channels. Programs like EastEnders makes you want to take a large lump hammer and bash your TV (Telly) into a million little pieces. I sooner watch a bad investation of Foot and Mouth :) How many Land channels to you guys have in Oz and how many of them are actually viewable? Norm

Answer to question 1: in Melbourne we had three commercial and the two gov't ones ( ABC which is our BBC ( i.e. plays lots of BBC stuff ) and SBS, which is our foreign language channel ). IN Hobart, since I moved here 8 years ago we have gone from one to two commercial channels. Answer to question 2: Neighbours and Home and Away are still on, 'lifestyle' and 'reality' shows abound, Jonothan Creek is not on anymore, in a nutshell, there is *nothing* worth watching on the telly. I watch about 3 hours a week, and two of those would be a DVD. Which is another reason why I am always on-line/programming. :) Christian The content of this post is not necessarily the opinion of my yadda yadda yadda. Totally agree about EastEnders - must be the one of the worst shows on British TV. We have the five normal channels like Mike (I think) said, but you can also get Sky Digital or cable TV and stuff like that. cheers, Andrew.

Wasn't that a dream? Or was that a different plot line? Stephen Kellett

YEs its crap. I can't watch it, it is too depressing. The whole plot line is based around conflict. The most amazing thing is:- a) The salaries the actors get (£100,000 to £300,000 a year for that rubbish!) b) The actors actually get nominated (and have won) for the quality (good grief) of their acting. Sheesh. Stephen Kellett
