Hey, Just settling in for another post-midnight session and am tossing up between a baileys, a milo, or a banana smoothie. I was just vaguely wondering what you guys and girls sip/quaff/slurp while you're programming. I know that Jolt used to be de rigour, but I'm not so sure nowadays. cheers, Chris Maunder

If you're "tossing up" X| maybe you should see a doctor! What I drink really depends on how the program is going. If I'm in the early design phase, and just getting my thoughts together water (and lots of it) gives me the little distraction I need without a buzz. If I'm "balls to the wall" coding, Jolt, Coke, chocolate covered coffee beans etc. fills the bill. If I have to explain my code or support users, it's back to water. Then when it's over, especially if I had to walk the same user through the same screen for the nth time  , break out the rum  and bag coding for a while.

well, at my official job, it's bottled water. but at home, on my side stuff it's usually a beer (and usually a canadian one at that) - though last night it was scotch on the rocks. -c ------------------------------ Smaller Animals Software, Inc. http://www.smalleranimals.com

Coffee in the morning, water or tea in the afternoon, and wine, whisky, or beer at night. (And a big glass of chocolate milk before bed)

Lots of water during the day, but I usually start it off with a big heaping cup of caffeine (coffee, coke or mountain dew (not so much any more)). A strong cup of coffee first thing in my (virtual) morning, followed by lots of water, a couple of Cokes, an evening cup of coffee, a couple more Cokes and some more water. /ravi "There is always one more bug..." http://www.ravib.com ravib@ravib.com

Soft-drink wise, the only thing I drank last year was Mt. Dew. This year its root beer (A&W or Mug), Dr. Pepper, and Mt. Dew. I'm not a big fan of water though, so I substitute milk :-D James There are two secrets to success. 1) Never tell anyone everything you know.

I make my own "baileys", tastes the same, if not better, it's a little thicker with what I think is a better texture, and it's about 1/3 the price :) Senior Test Engineer GLI Australia www.gli.com.au
