I discovered this show yesterday through some Youtube videos. I found it so sad that this show idea was (is?) a viable business. I mean they need to find people over 600 pound regularly and it seems it was easy looking at their Wiki page. Not to start a political argument here but I really found it sad that developed country is troubled with obesity at this level. I am quite sure good education about what, how much and when you eat at young age could help a lot of people.

9 cast members from this show have died from their health and weight issues. The production companies are making tons of money off the cast member's misery, suffering, and pain...and death. In other words: Others are guilty for 'my' obesity? I would estimate about 80% of obese people is self made. I feel very sorry for the other ones who have to live with it.

Yes. For example, victims of sexual assault do it, most of the time without even knowing it, to make themselves as unattractive as possible so they are not assaulted again.

Developed countries tend to have more sedentary lifestyles. Combine this with rich, high calorie foods and the human body will simply store all the extra fuel for the next famine. Where we fall down in avoiding this is with food pricing. The high calorie foods tend to be cheaper to make and therefore are cheaper to buy. Nasty cycle many people get into.
