We had a set of monster thunderstorms go through the area today, complete with lightning and the corresponding power outages. When the power came back on, my computer wouldn't power up. It turns out the outlet strip was dead. I opened it up, and the breaker was melted. I've had this outlet strip for over 15 years. I bought it when I bought my first PC. It died, so that others might live. :((

My brother had a customer call him one morning after a huge storm. He was mad as hell that his surge protector didn't work anymore. He didn't understand how they could install such crappy hardware in his store. My brother calmly asked him if all of his other equipment was working. After the customer told him yes, he calmly explained that the surge protector did its job and turned a $10,000 repair bill into a $100 repair bill. The customer realized his foolishness. Tim Smith I'm going to patent thought. I have yet to see any prior art.

Ya but sometimes losing data on computers could be worth a lot more than your lava lamp collection. -Pizzaman It's like blowing up an abortion center because you are pro life.

We gather here today to remember a hero who fought, and died, to protect our borders from the scourge of VOLTAge*. He gave no quarter, not even in the heat of battle. His shattered remains though are not our only testament to his bravery. No my fellow Electronicans, no indeed! For we stand today, we stand today alive and humming! Amen! Our Arcadia remains thanks to his gallant and fatal stand. Praise the lord! *the flag is draped over the sardine-can coffin, seven capacitors fire three volleys into the air and the SBLive plays his bugel* * Very Onerous Lepidopterist Terrorists Assocoiation
