I read the post the other day about how the new CodeSite website was using Movabletype. I then took a look and thought it was pretty cool, and would make updating my site easier. I started doing mine as an exercise in ASP.NET (with a view to doing a webservice that would let me add/update articles + news through a Winforms editing client), but never did the admin side of things. Anyway, I just thought I'd say that Movabletype is great. Pretty easy to setup and configure (well, I've got a Windows 2000 host and it still worked fine), and the templates are very easy to make and customise. I've still gotta tweak a few bits, but its essentially there. Just need to get it to write the index page outside of the cgi-bin. Anyway, I did a bit of work on it last night (fuelled by a few post-work beers in town). I did about 5 mins then felt tired and went to bed. So... I'd thoroughly recommend it for a basic CMS, and feel free to check it out on my site at http://www.oobaloo.co.uk/cgi-bin/[^]. The original ASP.NET one is http://www.oobaloo.co.uk/[^]. Can't decide whether to tweak the flash nav bit and incorporate it into the new blog-driven one. -- Paul "Put the key of despair into the lock of apathy. MT is definitley a very good abstraction. I am using TypePad and there is a lot of scope for flexibility in the MT system. One interesting little tidbit; For the CodeStore blog Derek wanted the latest release # displayed on the home page in the banner area. He then figured out you can just put the version # in the title of a post in the Release category and then pull right from there. Then whenever you do a new release, post it and the home page version # updates too. Neat. p.s. I prefer the http://www.oobaloo.co.uk/ design to the grey in http://www.oobaloo.co.uk/cgi-bin/ :) regards, Paul Bluegrass South Africa Ravi Bhavnani wrote: it's sold on EBay and shipped from China (on how to inspire confidence in your product) Crikey! ain't life grand?

Do like MT though. -- Paul "Put the key of despair into the lock of apathy.
