    Anyone know why TCP/IP "ports" were named so, in my opinion AppID or something of that sort would have been a much better name. I still remember when i was a kid i kept looking for all the 64K ports in my computer :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

Never say we don't go a long way to make this world as bearable as possible. Of course the official spec said "reusing widely accepted description of a physical concept for it's virtual counterpart". Y' know, the boss is not always in this group hug mood, but we know our ways around.

        It's called a port because you "connect" to it I think. :shrug: --
