It's competition. It's bound to drive the prices down. What's not to like? Unless of course, you work for one of the competitors. :~ Regards, Alvaro

Chistopher Duncan I can't help getting older, but I refuse to grow up. Roger Wright I've been meaning to change my sig. Thanks! That is great, except as usual it is only available to buyers in the U.S. of A. Apologies for ranting but fire truck. I had to go through the whole checkout process on Walmart before I found the bit of information saying that I could not use their service. Even then it was not a direct answer, it was simply that I had to choose a State and there was no "Other/NA/International" option. There is nothing in the terms of service either. Napster 2.0 committed a similar sin, only telling me after I had downloaded the app and I had read the TOS. iTunes so far is the only one that does it nearly right. It detects your machines locale and tells you right away that all you will be able to do is browse, not buy (though I still had to download the app). I don't understand what the issue is? Is it copyrights? taxes? xenophobia?

It's too costly to investigate each and every country's specific laws and therefore the product is limited to the only country for which their lawyers know the law - the U.S. Cheers, Tom Archer Never be afraid to try something new. :thumbs up:  thanks. so it would seem contacting the company and letting them know of the revenue they are missing out on, may persuade them to invest in a lawyer familiar with foreign trade laws.

I would guess it is the law. The service providers have struck deals with the record companies who are paranoid about their music being pirated. They know the US laws and are "happy" with them. Some are opening in the UK as well. Each country, the record countries I would guess must give the go ahead to. Maybe here in SA our copyright laws are too lax and the record companies feel they would get ripped off. But as you replied to Archer, if we show them the money they are missing then they should open up to the countries that are worth it. regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass South Africa Brian Welsch wrote: "blah blah blah, maybe a potato?" while translating my Afrikaans.
