Try using FileMon[^] to see what files your program is accessing - this can confirm whether or not it's trying to open your particular nvcplui.exe for execution?

You don't need to recreate the controls dynamically. Just catalog the information you need to save, organize it into some XML format, then use XSD.exe or something like Skeleton Crew[^] to generate an XML serializable model. Then on form load, read the XML file and use the resulting model to update the controls affected by your information, and on form closing fill a model with your information and serialize it out to the XML file. You can restrict your data to the text in text fields, or the form's size, or whatever you want to persist. Keep it simple. Try code model generation tools at BoneSoft.com.

If I got that right: Due to containing interfaces many classes can't be serialized. I want to save the state of my windows form. So I need to serialize elements of this form. These are Controls (Labels and UserControls). If the above applies, I see no way doing so, except serializing lets say the Text of a Label and then later deserialize the string, create a new Label and set the Text to the deserialized string, which is a really bad situation. Is there any better way?

I did this using a datagrid but the same result will apply. Make an inherited user control that inherits the panel and simply set the width of the vertical scrollbar to 0 (and the height of the horizontal scrollbar). This should give you the hidden scrollbar effect that you want.

Well, that's not what I meant. I know where to find the documentation. My Problem is that I can't use the (let me call it) advanced help in visual studio. As I read DirectX help should be integrated in visual studio automatically when visual studio is installed and you install the DirectX SDK. But when I install, there's nothing in VS. Due to the fact that I use Visual C# 2005 express edition only the managed DirectX help should be available (referring to the readme of the December 2005 DirectX SDK), but it is not for me. You can get this info by using the System.Management namespace functions. I do not have an example in c#, but I have one in vb.net if you are interested. Hi there, There are two things come to mind that you might need to check: + Make sure that the web control assembly referenced by your web application is the new one after you take out the Page.GetPostBackEventReference stuff in your control and recompile the project. + Are there any other controls declared in your web page such as DropDownList, HtmlButton ...? Basically, the __doPostBack function is automatically added by the ASP.NET in the private RenderPostBackScript method when there is a control declared in the webpage that requires post back client script like ListControl(DropDownList, ListBox), LinkButton ... You can try with a simple web page which basically contains only your custom control and see the result.
