Access a page when offline (on mobile)Is there a way to access a link in an email (on mobile) that goes to a website, even if internet is not available? For instance, I am in the train and when I had a signal, I received all the emails and I can then read them offline. Now one of the emails got a link to read related information on a website. So on clicking on that link, it re-directs me to the site but i am not in a network range and the page says "This webpage is not available". So I think there is no solution to it. Do you think there is any way we can make it to work. So that I can atleast read that text. Yes, ofcourse if I try to navigate through the site then i get an error "This webpage is not available". Thanks

Strange invoice from Verizonyes! That is so true. People don't want to use their brains and just obey the system like they are some robots. Anyway it will be good if you share the letter with all. If nothing else it will be good laugh.

Strange invoice from Verizonhaha they must be expecting 2 cents payment via debit or cheque and not in cash. But looks like you wasted lot of time arguing with them over the phone. Was it worth it?

Stepcode / cmakeFollowing query is from one of my mate and I have never used stepcode etc. So passing on his query here - "I need to extract CAD features using STEP files. I'd like to import STEP files to MATLAB basically and play around with geometric data in MATLAB. I've gone through Stepcode as well, but those are not making any sense to me as I don't understand how to use them. Any suggestions?" Thanks

Use calculator. Type in the number you are getting from analytics, then press the button that looks like a horizontal bar with dots above and below, then press 2. Press teh button with the parallel lines, and you'll see the correct figure displayed!
Oh really!! That's so clever of you.... :) But it will be good to have a permanent solution rather than using calculator.

AnalyticsThanks but it doesn't support Mac.

Analyticsin one of our site, analytics is reporting 2 views per page visit. For instance, If i go to any random page of the site and check analytics, it shows two views in real data. I don't think in the site we are calling any page behind the scene but just in case is there any better way to find this out ? Are there any tools? Thanks

Developer vs consultant vs architectHI, I am currently working as a Web developer and pursuing MBA part time. Now after completing MBA, I want to move into IT management side of world. From last 1-2 years, I have been providing solutions to my employer, and implementing them. My job requirement is more than a developer (Who just work on a given task). Now I have an option to change my role. What do you all suggest? Do i stick to Developer or Web consultant or Solutions Architect considering that I want to move into management side in few years time. Thanks.

I must say it does sound interesting and looks like a good initiative to help move idea to invention. But you never know.. ;) I have just registered interest as they mentioned registration is via invite only. I thought to share it with you clever lot, as it may interests lot of you....

cross domain auto loginHello, I have two sites with same set of users but based on different product. So I want if user logged in to first site, they are automatically logged in to the second one when they try to visit the second site. But saying that, both the sites are on different domain. I don't think cross domain cookie is even possible. Is there any way around it? Thanks

Any IT consultant here ?I think you are right. May be I need to look for per-consultancy jobs after graduation and then move into proper consultancy role. It's bit complicated than I thought.

Any IT consultant here ?Pete O'Hanlon wrote:
How can you be a consultant if you haven't got any practical experience?
And how will you get that experience ? You have to start somewhere. I am working as a software developer but at my free time I have offered my companY to help them solve Business/Finance/IT related issues. And also pursuing MBA from one of the top business school helps. I think if I plan properly I can get enough experience to land into top 4 consulting company after I graduate. But still not sure what roles can I look for as a I don't want to leave IT and want to use both (Software Egineering & MBA) degree in my next role.
