You're right. Currently you can't post using a registered name, but you can using something really close to a registered name. I spent a bit of time trying to work out the best approach given limited screen space but am out of energy, so we all need to have a collective think about it and on Monday we'll come up with the perfect solution, right? right?? :) cheers, Chris Maunder

Thanks, but this doesn't help much, because what I'm trying to do is create a child window (or a child dialog bar) to a window from another process. Therefore, I have only a CWnd object of that outer window but can't get its CFrameWnd.

Hi either make your parsing class a member of your dialog or your dialog a member of your parsing class. Or use FindWindow(...) from your parsing class.

Actually the client part of the code creates an MFC worker thread which calls my exportred function. I found a KB article in MSDN which said that I need to call OleInitialize(0) from my client. I did that also, but the dialog is still not displayed. Any ideas ?
