Try using a logging proxy or sniffer like httpLook[^] to see what is different in the messages that the VB client and the C# client are sending to the web service. i AM using the Visual Studio setup project. i like the custom action idea by minhpc_bk! infact i think that its the only way to do this (when using the VS.NET setup project.) i suppose that this custom action has to be run at the commit event..right? as the web.config wont be there to edit during the installation. so if this is right, then can any of you guide me on how to use the user provided information in this custom action and how to find the path where the web.config will get installed to? some tutorials would be great!!! again thanx a lot to all of you guys! regards ☺«««DTA»»»☺

I don't know, what I do know is, when you have report parameters of type (DATE), you get to input parameter via text field instead of a decent calendar control/date-time picker. This is true for Crystal, for Reporting Service as well as for MS Access. Okay, perhaps Reporting Service is still pretty new/immature. But for MS Access and Crystal this is a feature that should have been added a long time ago. Another thing, "Reporting Service Web Service Library", I don't think you can pass "NULL" from client, you need to handle that from within Report using SQL. Yet another interesting bug with Reporting Service is if your machine name has an underscore in it, "drilldown" wouldn't work when report is viewed from a browser... But all in all, it seems they're alright, both Crystal and Reporting Services. Most of the basic stuff are covered, things like conditional formatting, matrix, calculated/formula fields, drilldown, ... But, I'm no expert in the subject, need to play with them more to ... well, in short, disregard my comment. Norman Fung

To add submenus dynamically in VB6 you need to create a place holder top level menu and set it's Index property to 0. Then add sub menus by index.
